Dubai – United Arab Emirates, 28 February 2023: His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Finance, today honoured the winners of the “Minister of Finance Award for Institutional Excellence 2022”. The award aims to promote a work environment that is compatible with the government excellence model, and to recognise the outstanding efforts made by the Ministry of Finance employees to attain pioneering achievements at individual and institutional levels.

His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Finance, lauded the achievements and efforts made by the winners to contribute to enhancing the government financial work system and supporting the ministry’s leadership in various initiatives and projects. His Highness noted that the award is aimed at empowering employees, in line with the UAE’s vision to promote government excellence. His Highness said: “We are keen to continue enhancing the capabilities of exceptional cadres to attain qualitative achievements and develop cutting-edge work methods by stimulating a competitive environment that promotes excellence and pioneership.”

For his part, His Excellency Mohamed Bin Hadi Al Hussaini, Minister of State for Financial Affairs, said: “The Ministry of Finance is proud of its integrated team, which possesses a variety of skills and works in accordance with the highest international standards and practices to achieve the ministry’s strategic vision and attain the aspirations of the UAE Government.

” His Excellency added: “The Minister of Finance Award for Institutional Excellence comes out of His Highness’s keenness to honour employees who attain significant achievements and to promote a culture of excellence. The award contributes to building a competitive environment that motivates employees to always do their best, and to highlight the outstanding efforts of the Ministry of Finance employees by assessing the excellence and pioneership in their performance and achievements. The award reaffirms the leadership’s support for efforts made to achieve exceptional results at the individual and institutional levels, in line with the government excellence system.

” The Ministry of Finance launched the award, which comes under the auspices of His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, based on the categories of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Government Excellence Award. The ten categories of the award include “supervisory”, “specialty”, “customer happiness”, “government communication”, “future jobs”, “innovative employee”, in addition to the “youth” category, “the unsung hero”, “the good role model“, and the “projects/work teams“ award. 10 employees were honoured for their outstanding performance. Fatima Al Naqbi, Azza Al Jasmi, and Maryam Al Shamsi won the “supervisory” category award. Khawla Al-Hayas and Mohammed Bassiouni won the “specialty“ category award, while Ahmed Al-Shaarat was named “the innovative employee” and Sheikha Al-Hammadi won the “youth“ category award.

As for the “future jobs” category award, it went to Suleiman Qatamesh, and the “government communication” category award went to Reem Al Shehhi. Ahmed Abu Al-Hamad received a special honour in “the unsung hero” category. As for the “projects and work teams” award, it went to the smart application team and the digital procurement team. The “good role model” award was based on criteria like achievement and influence, and it went to Sumaya Al Hameli.

The “learning and career development” award went to Azza Mohammed Al Suwaidi, while the “innovation” award went to Amna Al Shamsi. Talal Al Shehhi won the “citizenship and positivity” award, and Abdullah Al Zaabi won the “leadership spirit” award. The Minister of Finance Award for Institutional Excellence comes within the ministry’s ongoing efforts to establish a culture of excellence and employee motivation, in line with the leadership’s vision that the human element is a key requisite of institutional productivity.
