Imran Ismail and Hashim Dogar part ways with PTI

Former Sindh governor Imran Ismail and Col (retd) Hashim Dogar on Saturday announced to part ways with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) over May 9 vandalism.

Former Sindh governor Imran Ismail on Saturday announced his departure from the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) following his release from jail.

The PTI leader, condemning the May 9 protests that erupted after PTI Chairman Imran Khan’s release, spoke in support of the Pakistan Army and criticised the former ruling party’s anti-establishment tirade.

Col (retd) Hashim Dogar, a former home minister for Punjab, has demanded that those responsible for the demonstrations and damage on May 9 be given exemplary punishment.

“Whoever was involved, whether that was in inciting, motivating, or physically attacking, they should be punished such that never again until the country remains anyone gets the chance to do any such action against any institution,” he stated in response to a news conference in Islamabad.

He further attributed the occurrences to remarks made by PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif and his daughter Maryam Nawaz against the military.

On the other hand, following the events of May 9, former PTI MNA Raja Khurram Nawaz announced his departure from the party among other politicians from the Rawalpindi area.
