The health services that became the Anthony L Jordan Health Corporation (Jordan Health) began more than 100 years ago, in 1904. As one of the first 5 Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC) established in the nation, its roots are steeped in service to those who face barriers to health and health care, meeting their need for comprehensive medical, dentistry, behavioral health, and community services. Starting in northeast Rochester, NY, Jordan Health has since expanded to become a network of primary care offices and health centers serving residents living in three quadrants of Rochester, NY and in Canandaigua, N.Y.

Jordan Health is now seeking a VIETNAMESE INTERPRETER (Brown Square Center) to minimize barriers to health care for all patients.

The Vietnamese Interpreter will:

•Assist patients for whom language is a significant barrier and utilizes In Demand Interpreting services for those languages not represented by our employed interpreter staff.

•Serve as a liaison and cultural broker between health center staff and patients.

•Facilitate access to health care services for all patients best served by a language other than English.

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

•High School Diploma or equivalent is required

•One year of directly related experience in a healthcare setting is strongly preferred

•Fluent language proficiency in English and language specific to clinic needs

•Knowledge of medical terminology in both languages is preferred

•Experience working in a position requiring customer interaction

Skills and Knowledge Required:

•Computer skills highly desirable

•Strong customer service and communication skills

•Proficiency in English and native (first) language

Salary Description
