About the Role

The Company is seeking a Vice President for Economic Development to serve as the Chief Economic Development/Continuing Education Officer. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing vision and leadership in the development of training programs that support economic and workforce development in the college's service area. This role involves working closely with a leadership team to promote the mission and values of the college and extensively with external organizations and agencies to make community and economic development programs accessible. The VPED will also be involved in strategic planning, managing the department's financial operations, and ensuring compliance with institutional accreditation criteria. Applicants for the Vice President of Economic Development position at the company should have a Bachelor's degree and at least 7 years' of work-related experience, or a Master's degree and at least 3 years' of work-related experience. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in marketing, sales, and community/business development, with a proven track record of partnering with external corporate and industry partners. Key competencies include general knowledge of corporate relocation and expansion, strong organizational and interpersonal communication skills, and the ability to be an effective problem solver and big-picture strategist. The role requires a strategic thinker with solid management skills, the ability to work collegially within a college system, and the capacity to manage multiple projects with attention to detail.
