A Senior Network Engineer develops, implements, and maintains network configuration as per an organization’s needs. This includes but is not limited to switching, routing, wireless, firewalling, NAC, and SD-WAN. The individual assesses the requirements of customers and businesses, designs network architecture, selects networking solutions, and develops and implements configurations according to best practices. Architects provide technical recommendations and configurations for network technologies in all cb20 accounts, including mid-market, enterprise, public and private sector.
Candidate will also assume the role of a technology expert in addressing network issues related to other systems and operations inside of cb20 customers. They partner with team members to strategize, develop, lab, implement, and document network infrastructure. The SNE will be responsible for mentoring and providing thought leadership to other cb20 Network Engineers. Candidate needs to have strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills, in addition to organizational skills.
Responsibilities for the Senior Network Engineer role:
Define an integrated network architecture (hardware, software, cloud) that addresses Reliability, Scalability, Power, Performance, and Security requirements.
Architecting solutions for scale, resiliency, and maintainability
Documenting key networking requirements for pre-sales opportunities and production environments.
Work with our sales, presales, and engineering teams to build and test and operationalize solutions.
Identify and scope projects around innovation opportunities and risk mitigation.
Lead Strategic IT initiatives around networking, including investigation, configuration, and deployment.
Implement Large Scale Solutions for enterprise clients.
Generate network documentation for existing infrastructure and infrastructure implemented during client projects.
Participate in sales meetings with cb20 Sales representatives to consult with current and prospective clients, gather customer requirements, and develop solutions.
Requirements for the Senior Network Engineer role:
Bachelor's degree in information technology or related field of study.
10+ years’ experience as a network engineer/architect.
Strong understanding of network infrastructure and network security, LAN & WAN experience, preferably with Cisco, Fortinet, Arista, Aruba, and or Palo Alto.
Ability to implement, administer, and troubleshoot network infrastructure devices including wireless access points, firewall, routers, switches, controllers.
Knowledge of application transport and network infrastructure protocols.
Ability to quickly learn new or unfamiliar technology and products using documentation and internet resources.
High organizational skills with the ability to overseeing multiple priorities.
Must be a U.S. Citizen or lawful permanent resident of the U.S. to meet Export Control requirements.
CCIE Required
Preferred experience for the Senior Network Engineer role:
Fortinet Certifications.
