We are actively seeking a seasoned Consulting Paralegal with a specialty in Insurance Defense to join our dynamic legal team. This role is ideal for a professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, has a keen eye for detail, and has an unwavering commitment to providing high-quality legal support. You will be an integral part of our team, providing crucial assistance to our attorneys in preparing for trials, hearings, and client meetings. This position offers a unique opportunity to work on challenging cases and to contribute to our ongoing success.
Responsibilities:
As a Consulting Paralegal, your duties will include but are not limited to:
1. Assisting attorneys in all stages of litigation cases from onset through post-trial.
2. Conducting legal research, gathering case-related documents, and organizing and maintaining files.
3. Preparing legal documents such as pleadings, discovery requests, and responses, deposition summaries, and trial exhibits.
4. Coordinating with expert witnesses and managing the discovery process.
5. Utilizing litigation software for efficient management of cases.
6. Preparing and labeling exhibits for trial.
7. Assisting in the preparation for trial including compiling trial notebooks, witness files, and jury instructions.
8. Handling federal filings and ensuring all documents are filed in a timely manner.
9. Meeting with clients to gather information and provide updates on case progress.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the Consulting Paralegal position should possess the following qualifications:
1. A minimum of 2 years of experience as a paralegal in the legal industry, preferably within insurance defense.
2. Exceptional knowledge of federal filing procedures and litigation software.
3. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat.
4. Demonstrated ability to prepare and label exhibits for trial.
5. Excellent research and investigative skills.
6. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
7. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
8. A paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved institution is preferred.
9. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
10. High level of professionalism and confidentiality.
