Emory Healthcare is currently seeking experienced Operating Room Registered Nurses (RN) who have acquired broad experience in caring for patients, and have developed a sound understanding about the care of a particular patient population. This individual:

• Routinely use acquired knowledge, theory, research and experience to respond to changes in clinical situations
• Deliver safe, dependable and effective care to a patient population independently utilizing the nursing process
• Apply the Synergy Model for Care in practice, and use this knowledge to personalize care for each patient/family
• Communicate effectively and respectfully with the patient, the patient's family, and other members of the healthcare team
• Document the nursing process accurately and in the appropriate format (e.g. computer, clinical pathway, chart)
• Utilize patient/family input and goals in planning plan of care
• Evaluate patient's response to planned care and adjusts plan of care as appropriate.
• Recognize needs and advocate for patient based on knowledge of condition
• Recognize that cultural differences need to be considered in developing patient and family relationships (focus on identifying cultural norms)

Minimum Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing 12 months of recent experience within the past five years or recent completion of a re-entry nursing program.
• 24 months of Operating Room (OR) experience preferred. 
• Must have a valid, active unencumbered Nursing license or temporary permit approved by the Georgia Licensing Board.
• BLS certification required and ACLS may be required in designated departments
