Job Title: Off-Duty/Retired Police Officer

Location: Greater Chicagoland Areas

Job Type: Full-Time and Part-Time Opportunities Available

Schedule: All Shifts Available (Days/Afternoons/Overnights)

Salary: $35.00-$70.00 An Hour

Description: We are seeking off-duty police officers to provide security services for our organization. The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure the safety and security of our premises, personnel, and assets. Off-duty police officers bring a unique level of expertise and authority to the security role, contributing to a heightened level of safety and confidence among our stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • 1. Provide a visible presence to deter criminal activity and enforce security policies and procedures.

  • 2. Patrol assigned areas on foot or by vehicle to identify and address potential security risks.

  • 3. Respond promptly to incidents, emergencies, and alarms, utilizing law enforcement training and tactics as appropriate.

  • 4. Investigate security breaches, disturbances, and suspicious activities, taking necessary actions to resolve or escalate as required.

  • 5. Maintain order and safety during special events, crowd control situations, or other high-risk scenarios.

  • 6. Collaborate with on-duty law enforcement personnel, security staff, and other stakeholders to coordinate responses and ensure effective communication.

  • 7. Conduct thorough inspections of the premises to ensure all access points are secure and all security systems are functioning properly.

  • 8. Provide assistance and support to visitors, employees, and clients as needed, while upholding professional standards and enforcing relevant regulations.

  • 9. Document incidents, observations, and actions taken in detailed reports, adhering to legal and departmental requirements.

  • 10. Maintain confidentiality and integrity in handling sensitive information and situations.

Requirements:

  • 1. Active duty or retired police officer with certification from a recognized law enforcement agency.

  • 2. Extensive experience in law enforcement, security, or related fields, with a strong understanding of security principles and practices.

  • 3. Ability to maintain composure and make quick, effective decisions in high-pressure situations.

  • 4. Excellent communication skills, including the ability to communicate clearly and assertively with diverse individuals and groups.

  • 5. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to establish rapport and build trust with stakeholders.

  • 6. Physical fitness and the ability to perform duties requiring standing, walking, running, and occasionally lifting heavy objects.

  • 7. Clean criminal record and exemplary conduct both on and off duty.

  • 8. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

  • 9. Completion of relevant training courses, including firearms training, CPR/First Aid, and any additional certifications required by the hiring organization.

  • 10. Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on organizational needs.
