Catmasters LLC was formed in 2019 by a team of engineers from leading engineering roles within top tier global technology providers to oil refineries, gas, petrochemical and chemical processing plants, and leading contracting companies providing specialized reactor maintenance services to local and international clients. We are a dynamic innovative engineering company, aiming to transform current antiquated heavy industrial processes. Catmasters targets processes which have high value output, yet, are reliant on manual or low tech controls. The Company then aims to mechanize these operations, gather information over-time and then automate the operations. The result of our innovations are improvements related to safety, environment, cost and productivity. Another key focus is on providing an excellent return on investment for our customers
Role Summary
This engineering role is within our Engineering division. The company designs, sells, installs and maintains various technology systems globally and is working on the further development of all their new and older technology. We offer a position with a high level of autonomy and empowerment in a challenging and flexible environment.
The Engineer collaborates with the Lead Engineer and others in the organization. The Engineer assists with the development of new hardware, combining engineering principles and creativity. He/she proposes modifications and solutions to problems with existing and new designs within the mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical areas. The mechanical engineer performs various engineering calculations including stress analysis. In the field, the engineer will perform execution of our services including installations and maintenance. They will also assist in generating proposal documentation and sales models or early design needs for sales.
Collaborate with clients, contractors, and various stakeholders to fulfill project specifications. Visit client locations to offer technical assistance directly. Provide guidance to client and construction teams on-site regarding field installations. Instruct the installation crew on Catmasters' engineering and design approaches for various setups, making pivotal decisions on-site. Work alongside client and fabricator staff to address design and schedule issues within projects. Manage formal documentation. Support the group manager with routine project oversight, including order processing, financial proposals, scheduling, and more. Communicate technical details following client directives. Address client feedback. Carry out additional responsibilities as delegated by the management team.
Work Environment
Primarily office-based with regular visits to project sites. Occasional travel may be required for client meetings, site inspections, and training. While performing this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, high and precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, outside weather conditions and extreme cold and heat.
Key Result Areas
Design and Development:
· Develop detailed engineering plans, specifications, and layouts.
· Utilize CAD software to create and modify designs, using Autodesk Inventor.
· Conduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses for proposed solutions.
· Perform engineering calculations as required.
· Assist in building and testing prototypes using hand/power tools.
Management:
· Lead engineering projects from concept to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.
· Coordinate with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met.
· Prepare and present project reports, proposals, and status updates to management and clients.
· Train new employees and or contractors on new products/machines.
· Compile Site Reports and data using Microsoft Word and Excel.
· Perform other work-related tasks as assigned.
Implementation and Testing:
· Oversee the installation and commissioning of systems and equipment.
· Conduct tests and inspections to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
· Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues as they arise.
Continuous Improvement:
· Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement innovative solutions.
· Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
· Participate in training and development programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
Maintenance and Support:
· Develop and implement maintenance programs to ensure optimal performance of systems.
· Provide technical support and guidance to clients and internal teams.
· Maintain accurate records of engineering activities, including maintenance logs and technical documentation.
Education
B.S. in Mechanical Engineering.
· 2-5+ years of experience preferred.
· Ability to work independently and be self-motivated, as well as part of a team.
· Positive and personable attitude.
· Ability to travel up to approximately 25%. Additional travel may be required initially until the employee is trained.
· Experience with 3D modeling is also preferred (Autodesk Inventor is the software we use).
· Ability to work well with clients and co-workers in the field, with good onsite communication, problem solving and trouble shooting.
