The intern works closely with experts in the area of Marketing to address critical business needs and complete necessary business projects. Assist the Marketing function with items such as, but not limited to; content creation, phone communication, email communication, and general business needs. Job Duties: Content Creation: Assist in creating engaging content for social media platforms, newsletters, website, and other marketing materials. This includes writing copy, creating graphics, and sourcing multimedia content. Social Media Management: Help manage and grow our social media presence by scheduling posts, monitoring engagement, and brainstorming creative campaigns to increase followers and engagement. Digital Marketing: Support digital marketing efforts including email marketing, search engine optimization (SEO), and online advertising to increase awareness and drive traffic to our website and events. Event Support: Assist in promoting events hosted by the non-profit through various marketing channels. This may include creating event pages, designing promotional materials, and coordinating outreach efforts. Market Research: Conduct research to identify trends, best practices, and opportunities for marketing outreach. Provide insights and recommendations based on findings to enhance our marketing strategies. Administrative Support: Provide general administrative support to the marketing team as needed, including organizing files, tracking expenses, and managing marketing materials inventory. Assists with company fundraisers and activities. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Currently enrolled in a degree program in Marketing, Communications, or related field. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Creative mindset with a passion for storytelling and content creation. Proficiency in social media platforms and basic graphic design tools. Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills. Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a team environment. Working Hours: The Marketing Intern typically works full-time for a defined period during school break OR works part-time for a defined period during school sessions. Typical business hours of operation are between the hours of 8:00 am-4:30 pm. This person may be asked to work occasional hours outside of this to accommodate business needs or events. Working Conditions: Works in a well-lighted and well-ventilated office area. Sits, stands, and walks during the workday. Subject to working relationships with all employees of Babcock Center and other program staff. Supervision: The direct supervisor for the Marketing Intern is the Marketing Manager. Typical Physical Demands: Sitting, standing, bending, stooping, reaching, frequent lifting, and manual dexterity sufficient to operate standard office machines. Must have a normal range of hearing and vision. Typical Mental Demands: Must be able to deal with the stress associated with a fast-paced work environment and multitasking. Formulate decisions and act upon them. Adapt to changing work situations. Grasp and apply new ideas. Communication with various personalities at all levels. Hazards/Potential Hazards: Cleaning chemicals, ergonomic hazards: static postures, repetitive motion, trip hazards such as file drawers and electrical wires video display terminals.
