The Position:

As a Restaurant Host/Private Event Assistant at The Bancroft, you will be responsible for providing a warm and welcoming greeting to guests, managing reservations, and helping to create a pleasant and enjoyable dining experience for all guests. The ideal candidate will work closely with other members of the restaurant team to ensure that all guests are seated promptly and efficiently, and that they receive exceptional service throughout their meal. This role is also responsible for assisting with booking, planning, and corresponding with guests who are planning private events.

Responsibilities:

  • Welcome guests to The Bancroft with a friendly and warm greeting
  • Manage reservations and ensure that all guests are seated promptly and efficiently
  • Maintain accurate records of reservations, event details, and guest interactions.
  • Handle unexpected situations and resolve issues during events or regular service professionally.
  • Collaborate with all departments to ensure effective communication and seamless event execution.
  • Address any guest concerns or complaints promptly and professionally
  • Work with other members of the restaurant team to ensure a smooth and efficient operation
  • Maintain a clean and organized front-of-house area
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in hospitality, customer service, or event coordination preferred
  • Familiarity with reservation management systems is a plus!
  • Exude a high level of hospitality to our guests – smile and have fun!
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced high-volume work environment
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
  • Ability to multitask and take direction
  • Work as part of a team
  • Strong communication skills
  • Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time
