Job Description Summary As part of the Advanced Manufacturing and Repair Technology Team, the Rotor Repair Engineer role is responsible for the engineering ownership of rotor components for repair activities, focusing on technology and productivity initiatives. This role will coordinate with Engineering and Services teams to develop and industrialize standardized component repairs to support productivity and fulfillment objectives.
Job Description Roles and Responsibilities - Develop, drive and industrialize repair processes and technology for the services network in support of repair strategy
- Lead projects to directly impact productivity and fulfillment efforts
- Work with RDC and service center engineers to perform repair process technology jugular testing in the RDC or in the shop
- Work with service center engineering team to analyze and disposition non conformances from standard hardware condition
- Author and own Repair Engineering Instruction documents
- Establish and maintain inspection criteria
- Support component related readiness to serve needs for global service centers
- Substantiate service center repair process qualifications/certifications
- Interface with Materials, Design, and Product Service engineering and lead design reviews for repair development
- Drive a culture of one Gas Power team by partnering with adjacent organizations and stakeholders
- Deliver operational commitments and key process indicator targets
- Improve quality, delivery, and cost of GE products within team's scope
- Implement lean methodologies including standard work, standard product, and kaizen
Required Qualifications - Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Materials Engineering, Materials Science, or related engineering field of study from an accredited college or university
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working in, with, and/or supporting a Manufacturing/Design environment
- Travel to repair centers, customer sites, and other locations as needed globally (~10 - 20%)
Desired Characteristics - Master's Degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university
- Experience in Gas Turbine rotor manufacture, design, or repair
- Lean training or equivalent quality training
- Strong mechanical design and analytical background
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes
- Ability to drive projects to completion
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
- Ability to interface effectively with all levels of the organization and external customers
- EEDP, OMLP, or other leadership program graduate
For U.S. based candidates only, for purposes of complying with U.S. pay transparency requirements, the base pay range for this position is: 85,600.00 - 142,600.00 USD Annual
The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. This Lead Professional Band position is also eligible for a 10% performance bonus. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.
