Job Description

Position Title: Executive Chef

Role: Senior Leader

Salary Range: $80,000 - $85,000 per year (Exempt)

Reports To: General Manager

We are seeking a visionary Executive Chef to lead our culinary operations, create exceptional dining experiences, and uphold our commitment to excellence. As an Executive Chef, you will be responsible for the overall culinary strategy and operations, ensuring that every plate reflects our brand’s high standards. This leadership role focuses on fostering a collaborative culture, inspiring your team, and achieving performance goals while maintaining food safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities

Guest Experience

  • Collaborate with front-of-house management to ensure a seamless and memorable guest experience.
  • Supervise and coach the culinary team to consistently deliver high-quality food preparation and presentation.
  • Address guest concerns and resolve issues promptly to maintain satisfaction.
  • Interact with guests during curated dinners, special events, and tableside services.
  • Support the planning and execution of private events and special occasions.

Culinary Operations

  • Oversee all aspects of kitchen operations, including purchasing, receiving, food production, and recipe compliance.
  • Maintain exemplary food safety standards, sanitation, and cleanliness, achieving health department scores of 90-95 or above.
  • Manage relationships with suppliers and engage with the local community as a brand representative.
  • Communicate effectively with staff to accommodate guest needs, including dietary restrictions and special requests.
  • Monitor and control food and beverage inventory, ensuring responsible purchasing to reduce waste.
  • Align food and labor costs with budgetary goals and operational efficiency.

Team Leadership

  • Lead hiring, onboarding, and training of culinary staff, ensuring alignment with company values.
  • Organize team meetings to discuss goals, challenges, and opportunities for growth.
  • Foster a positive work environment that encourages collaboration and continuous learning.
  • Set a strong example of professionalism and provide ongoing coaching and mentorship.

Financial Management

  • Develop and manage kitchen budgets to meet profitability targets.
  • Analyze financial data and make informed decisions to maximize revenue and minimize costs.
  • Drive the team to achieve sales goals and meet performance metrics.

Performance Metrics

Success in this role will be evaluated based on:

  • Customer Satisfaction: Delivering exceptional dining experiences that result in high guest satisfaction ratings.
  • Sales Growth: Meeting or exceeding sales targets and driving revenue.
  • Staff Retention: Building a positive culture that attracts and retains top culinary talent.
  • Operational Efficiency: Ensuring seamless kitchen operations, timely service, and effective cost management.
  • Health & Safety Compliance: Maintaining top-tier health and safety standards.
  • Financial Success: Contributing to overall profitability through cost control and sales growth.

Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years as an Executive Chef or equivalent leadership role in a high-volume or fine-dining environment.
  • Education: Culinary degree or certificate preferred. Equivalent experience in culinary leadership will be considered.
  • Proven ability to lead, inspire, and manage a diverse culinary team.
  • Exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • A passion for hospitality and commitment to providing an outstanding guest experience.
