Elevator Operator I 1st shift: 6:30am-2:30pm $26.95/hour RESPONSIBILITIES Above all must work safely at all times. Be involved with the safe operation and safety improvement of the plant. Safely operating loading and unloading equipment. Operating equipment used to fill wheat bins in a safe and efficient manner. Any housekeeping duties as assigned, including but not limited to Confined Space bin cleaning operations. The utility is the area owner of the following areas but not limited to: all tunnels, galleries, rail unload area. Learn and fill in for other positions within the elevator department: Scale Man, Truck Dump Operator, Mixer, Feed Loader, but not limited to the Elevator Department. Must be able to learn and perform preventative maintenance, grease, change buckets, change socks, change idlers, patch spouting, replace spouting and help maintenance and contractors with major repairs on equipment in a safe manner. This job is a continuous duty job. Learn to recognize grain condition or factors such as odor, protein and IDK and notify supervisor when these factors may adversely affect finished product quality or make adjustments to eliminate condition problems. QUALIFICATIONS Must work safely, following all safety procedures, taking all precautions and using all required safety equipment. Must follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's) and other company policies. Must work efficiently; be alert, organized and cooperative at all times. Self-starter, able to work independently and make decisions in accordance with operating procedures. Should have a high school diploma or equivalent work experience. Must become familiar with unloading and conveyor/tripper equipment and be able to operate it at maximum efficiency. Must also perform duties in an orderly fashion and keep assigned areas neat, organized and clean. Must be able to compute simple math functions, read tape measure and follow directions. Will work any shift and rotate as needed, I. Must work overtime when required. Must be able to pass the forklift- bobcat-shuttle wagon training and operate this equipment safely. Must be able to pass shuttle wagon training and operate this equipment safely. Must be able to shovel 30 to 50 lbs on a frequent basis. Must be able to work in dusty, dirty conditions. Must communicate well through written and verbal (radio). Must be able to document any needed information as required by the performed task. Must be able to obtain minimum Ardent Mills LEVEL Il electrical certification. Must be able to learn PRISM, One Weigh and use company email. Physical requirements and working conditions (with or without reasonable accommodation): Must be able to ascend and descend stairs, multiple times per day Climb ladder, step and extension Able to lift to 50 pounds and exert 20 pounds of force Frequently stand, walk, rotate, bend/stoop, twist, crouch, kneel, balance and reach at shoulder level and below shoulder level Ability to perform physical job duties which may include bending, lifting up to 50 lbs., kneeling, climbing, crawling, and twisting safely, with or without a reasonable accommodation Ability to work in varied indoor and outdoor conditions which may include heat, cold, dust, loud noise, with the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including a dust mask Ability to work in elevated areas (4 feet and above) Team members must be clean shaven in order to perform tasks where respiratory protection is required and the use of a respirator (including N-95 dust mask) requires a proper seal for adequate protection.
