The Chief Risk Officer will serve as a critical member of our leadership team, responsible for establishing and overseeing the company’s risk management strategy. This includes identifying, assessing, mitigating, and monitoring risks across all aspects of the business, including investment, operational, regulatory, and reputational risks. Key Responsibilities: Leadership and Collaboration: Build and lead the risk management team, fostering a culture of proactive risk awareness. Collaborate with other departments to ensure risk management is integrated into the firm’s decision-making processes. Reporting and Communication: Present risk assessments and mitigation strategies to the Board of Directors and senior management. Develop regular risk reports and dashboards for internal and external stakeholders. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to all applicable regulatory requirements and manage relationships with regulatory bodies. Stay informed of regulatory changes and assess their impact on the firm. Operational Risk: Evaluate and enhance controls across operational processes to minimize exposure to fraud, errors, or inefficiencies. Lead efforts in identifying emerging operational risks and implementing preventative measures. Investment Risk Oversight: Collaborate with investment teams to monitor portfolio risks and ensure alignment with the firm's risk tolerance and investment strategies. Utilize advanced analytical tools to measure and report investment exposures and stress scenarios. Risk Management Framework: Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive risk management framework tailored to Ark Investments’ business model. Establish policies and procedures to identify, assess, monitor, and manage risks effectively. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field; advanced degree or professional certifications (e.g., CFA, FRM, PRM) preferred. Demonstrated ability to build and lead high-performing teams. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex risk concepts to diverse audiences. Strong analytical skills and experience with risk modeling tools and systems. Deep understanding of investment strategies, financial markets, and regulatory environments.
