Chemical Engineering Manager

Company in Maryville, Tennessee and surrounding counties is seeking a highly experienced and highly skilled Chemical Engineering!

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Essential functions include but are not limited to the following:

• Plan, direct, and coordinate activities of the Engineering Department
• Responsible for overseeing and managing all engineering activities within the organization.
• Leading a team of engineers, coordinating projects, and ensuring the successful execution of engineering initiatives.
• Managing engineering issues that arise in projects and products by providing technical guidance, proposing timelines and budgets for projects, training employees, and partnering with various departments.
• Manage engineering staff, schedules, and performance
• Prepare and control department budget and forecast operating costs of the department
• Communicate effectively with customers, vendors and internal team members via meetings and reporting documents
• Identify and initiate process changes to increase efficiency
• Collaborate with cross-functional team members on continuous improvement initiatives
• Hire and retain engineering staff through effective vetting of applicants and continuous engagement of employees
• Train engineering personnel on procedures and specifications
• Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and objectives
• Lead and manage engineering and maintenance personnel
• Other tasks may be assigned as necessary

 

REQUIREMENTS:

 

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering required.
• Knowledge of Thixotropic materials with a good understanding of viscosities.
• Understanding of machinery including but not limited to the Press Brake, Water Jet, Plasma machine is a plus.
• 3 years of previous experience testing and troubleshooting chemical engineering designs, material requisitions.
• Highly proficient with Microsoft Office products, AutoCAD, and Autodesk Inventor is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal required
• High attention to detail is required
