Organization: Faith-Based Nonprofit Organization in Kalamazoo, MI

Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled Bookkeeper with extensive experience in QuickBooks Pro to join our dedicated team at a thriving faith-based nonprofit organization in Kalamazoo, MI. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting regulations, and supporting our mission-driven initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day financial transactions, including accounts payable and receivable.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date general ledger entries using QuickBooks Pro.

  • Reconcile bank statements and ensure financial discrepancies are resolved in a timely manner.

  • Prepare financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual statements.

  • Assist in budget preparation and monitoring expenses against budget allocations.

  • Process payroll and maintain employee records related to compensation and benefits.

  • Ensure compliance with nonprofit accounting standards and regulatory requirements.

  • Support audits and provide necessary documentation to auditors.

  • Collaborate with the executive team to provide financial insights and support strategic decision-making.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.

  • Proven experience (3+ years) as a Bookkeeper, preferably in a nonprofit or faith-based organization.

  • Proficiency in QuickBooks Pro and advanced knowledge of accounting principles.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping.

  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
