Job Description

Position Summary:

The 3D Modeler is responsible for creating high-quality 3D digital models for use in the design, development, and manufacturing of medical devices. This role involves working with engineering, product development, and clinical teams to develop precise digital representations of medical implants, surgical guides, anatomical models, and other patient-specific or standardized medical products.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in 3D modeling software , an understanding of technical design principles , and the ability to interpret medical and engineering specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create accurate and detailed 3D models for use in product development, prototyping, and manufacturing.
• Collaborate with engineering, clinical, and product teams to ensure models meet technical and regulatory requirements .
• Utilize computer-aided design (CAD) software to generate models of medical implants, surgical tools, anatomical structures, and other medical components.
• Interpret engineering drawings, anatomical scans, and clinical requirements to develop patient-specific and standardized designs.
• Ensure all designs adhere to company, industry, and regulatory standards for medical devices.
• Participate in design reviews and contribute to improvements in the modeling and development process.
• Maintain and organize digital files and design documentation for quality control and compliance purposes.
• Stay updated on emerging 3D modeling technologies and industry trends related to medical device design.

Required Qualifications:

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design or a related technical field .
• Proficiency in 3D modeling software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Blender, or similar CAD tools .
• Strong understanding of technical design principles, anatomy, and medical device applications .
• Experience working with medical imaging data (CT/MRI scans) and converting them into 3D models is a plus.
• Familiarity with manufacturing processes such as 3D printing, CNC machining, or injection molding is desirable.
• Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a collaborative team environment .

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior experience in a medical device, healthcare, or regulated industry .
• Knowledge of quality and regulatory standards (ISO 13485, FDA regulations, etc.).
• Experience with rendering and visualization software for presentation and marketing purposes.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

• Onsite office-based with significant time spent using 3D modeling software .
• Collaboration with cross-functional teams, including engineers, clinicians, and manufacturing specialists .
• Some projects may require interpreting medical scans and anatomical data .
