Al Ain Hospital dedicated to Covid-19 patients
Hospital will close emergency department to public and transfer inpatients to nearby medical centres.
Al Ain Hospital will close to the general public and be dedicated to treating and isolating patients with coronavirus.
The Abu Dhabi Health Services Company, or Seha, said inpatients would be transferred to Tawam Hospital and other nearby medical centres “to provide the best healthcare services for the community”.
The hospital’s emergency room will also be temporarily closed. Emergency cases after the closure will be transferred to Tawam.
Urgent care cases will be transferred to hospitals including NMC, Burjeel, Ain Al Khaleej and other Seha medical centres in Al Ain.
Patients of Al Ain Hospital with chronic diseases will have their medication delivered to them.
The hospital will also provide a “telemedicine service” to the public during its closure.
The UAE has registered 814 Covid-19 cases, including 61 recoveries and eight deaths since its first patients were announced in late January.
